The color in which the RGB LED lights up is determined by the 24-bit value applied to the LED input.

An RGB LED has only a single input of bit width 24. The most significant 8 bits contain the value of the red color channel, the middle 8 bits contain the value of the green color channel, and the least significant 8 bits contain the value of the blue color channel.
